Pre-K is having a great time getting ready for the holidays with fun activities in S.T.E.A.M. We are working on our fine motor skills by beading and decorating a little tree!

Students in Mrs. Whitehurst’s class are learning about contractions. The students had to search for their contraction partner and make a match! Partner learning is always fun!

Happy International Volunteer Day! Today, we salute the volunteers who contribute to the success of our schools and encourage everyone to explore the rewarding experience of giving back to the community.
It’s a great way to truly make a difference! 🌟

Today in Mrs. Manley’s class, her kids learned a hard lesson of who they could and could not trust, while reviewing all 5 text structures. Mrs. Manley went around to different influential adults in the kids’ lives, and had them read a paragraph. After the paragraph was read, the adult had to tell the kids what text structure they thought it was. BUT… can our students trust these adults? They then had to decided if these adults they loved were telling the truth, or telling a big fat fib. If the adult was fibbing, the kids had to tell them the correct text structure. It was a fun way to review for their test!

t’s Computer Science Education Week! We’re thrilled to highlight the incredible opportunities our students have to explore the exciting world of computer science and 21st century technology.

REMINDER: There will be no school for WPPS students the week of November 20 for Thanksgiving Break.🍁
We will see our students again on Monday, November 27!

We are so thankful for the support of our West Point students, staff, and community. Over the last two weeks, students brought in over 2,000 pounds of canned goods to be donated to families in need for the Thanksgiving Holiday. While the students provided the canned goods, the West Point Rotary Club graciously donated 12 turkeys to the cause. Thank you to all of those that made this happen, especially Kaylee Powell, WPMS/HS School Counselor, who coordinated all of these efforts. Have a great Thanksgiving!

WPPS held their annual International Potluck Thursday night. This year’s theme “Friendsgiving” was a wonderful expression of all the wonderful families and friends that came to dinner to share foods that represent their cultures! Lots of different dishes to try and company to enjoy! Thank you to all our families that came to share with us!

To finish up their graphing unit, Mrs. Gowers’ first grade tried different types of Thanksgiving pies. They then created a picture graph on a pocket chart that they then used to tally and create a bar graph! The kids said this was the yummiest math lesson!

Join the WPPS family! We're on the lookout for passionate educators and dedicated support staff to enrich our school community. Step into a role that shapes futures.
