The ELL committee hosted a pizza night and movie for our ELL families! Kids enjoyed spending time together, eating popcorn, playing games and watching a movie! Their parents also had the opportunity to listen to a presentation on banking practices. It was a great night with all!

Students from WPMS/HS were fortunate to have an in-depth field trip to the West Point Volunteer Fire Department. During their visit, they participated in an agility test, worked various pieces of equipment, practiced their communication skills, had a Q&A with staff, and even got to ride in a fire truck. Special thanks to Chief Cheatham (WP), Firefighter/AEMT Herrington, Firefighter/Paramedic Bacon, Lieutenant Archer (KW), and Chief Brown (KW). WPPS is very thankful for our community partnerships!

National School Breakfast Week is March 4-8, 2024, and this year's theme, Surf’s Up with School Breakfast, celebrates the importance of a nutritious school breakfast in fueling students for success. Studies show that students who eat school breakfast are more likely to reach higher levels of achievement in reading and math, score higher on standardized tests, have better concentration and memory, and maintain a healthy weight. Thank you to Mrs. Misty Osborne and her staff for providing our students a healthy breakfast each morning!

WPMS 'School to Watch"
On Tuesday, Mrs. Gay, Mr. Klaver, Ms. Long, Mr. Matthews, and seventeen student leaders from the high school attended the Jostens Renaissance All In event in Hampton. The day was filled with speakers from around the country who encouraged students and staff to bring back positivity to their school buildings. The goal of the event was to give these young leaders ideas of ways to build stronger relationships between everyone in their school community. Be on the lookout for all the amazing ideas these students plan to start or bring back to our Pointer community! #helpingteachersandstudentslovemondays
