Today, we celebrated our amazing and dedicated employees at our annual food truck event! Dr. Michelle McQueen Williams acknowledged our work and reminded us to RISE to the top by continuing to focus on Relationships, Innovation, Student-centeredness, and Excellence!

First graders at WPES have been learning about plant life cycles! To finish their unit they planted flowers to watch the life cycle in action! We are excited to see what grows!

After reading "Ada's Violin", 5th grade students went to the Maker Space to create instruments of their own from all sorts of recycled materials. Guitars, drums, and even wind chimes were created. We can't thank Ms. Hix enough for creating this amazing space filled with all sorts of materials for the students to explore with and create! The students did an amazing job making these instruments!

On Administrative Professionals’ Day, we pay tribute to the people who do so much to keep our schools running smoothly. Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication. We’re truly grateful for everything you do!

Today, we recognize all school bus drivers for their service to West Point Public Schools! Thank you!

Mrs. Crowder's students enjoyed tasting cucumbers that were grown in the classroom hydroponic garden. Science is yummy!

Mrs. Whitehurst’s class is reviewing perimeter and area. They were shocked to return to the classroom after STEAM to find their tables moved together causing a smaller perimeter. Not everyone had a place to sit. Luckily, we moved the tables back to fit everyone. Then we used Cheeze-Its to measure perimeter and area of rectangles! It was a delicious way to review.

Pre-K students had a blast in music yesterday with the song, "Five Green and Speckled Frogs". They demonstrated their counting skills with their own set of plastic jumping frogs and their pretend pool. They had fun jumping their frogs into the pool one at a time. Great fun and learning happening in the music room from our youngest students!

In April, we recognize National Internship Awareness Month! Internships and job shadows are fantastic ways for students to gain valuable real-world experience, explore career paths, and develop essential skills. We appreciate the businesses and organizations that make these opportunities available. Students, speak with a counselor if you are interested in learning more.

April is World Autism Acceptance Month! We’re proud to celebrate neurodiversity and the unique strengths ALL our students bring to the classroom. Our commitment is to create a safe and inclusive learning environment for each and every individual we serve. We appreciate our dedicated educators and staff, who work tirelessly to meet the needs of our students!

Tickets are now on sale for the Theatre II charity performance, Maybe the Butler Did It?, on Friday, April 26th at 6:30 P.M. Maybe the Butler Did It? is a comedy in which nine people have found themselves trapped in the middle of a murder mystery. The characters are on a mission: to solve the murder and win a millionaire’s fortune. But, could the killer be among them? Maybe the Butler Did It features outrageous characters and quirky twists that will have you guessing until the end. Could it be the wannabe writer? The “devoted” wife? The supermodel? Or… maybe the butler did it? Tickets are $5 and all sales will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Thanks to the work of Quinn Agnew, Class of 2027, high school students can now become members of the Key Club! The Key Club is an organization focused on service to the school and community. Yesterday afternoon, Mr. Dick Goyne, President of the Kiwanis Club of Middlesex, Mr. James Shackelford, Capital District Assistant Membership Coordinator, and two of their colleagues, presented the newly elected officers with the official Key Club banner. The club is advised by Ms. Rush and Mrs. Powell.
