⚔️📖Mr. McCallister’s juniors headed to Historic Jamestown for a day of exploration and learning! Mrs. Romero and Mrs. Lohr tagged along for the adventure.
Students had the opportunity to learn from West Point resident Mark Summers, an author and historian who serves as the Educational Director of Youth and Public Programs for Jamestown Rediscovery. Mark shared his extensive knowledge of Jamestown’s history before students toured the site and continued exploring and learning firsthand!

The West Point Combined PTO hosted this wonderful event with support from the West Point Chamber of Commerce. We are so thankful that our NHS students and several of our cheerleaders were able to assist with this special tradition.
This year, we also opened a few volunteer opportunities to some very responsible middle schoolers, and we couldn’t be more pleased with their help. It was wonderful to see our students of all ages step up and give back to our community.

Starbucks Day in 5th Grade!
5th grade SO much fun learning today with four Starbucks-inspired rotations! The day was filled with learning, laughter, tasty treats, and lots of Starbucks-inspired fun! 💚
📚 Book Tasting — students enjoyed a yummy sweet fall trail mix while “tasting” some awesome book recommendations!
🌱 Stem-and-Leaf Poster Challenge — creating and organizing data in a creative way.
☕️ Coffee Bean Estimation — making estimates, testing our thinking, and analyzing our results.
🔢 Speed of Place Value — putting our place value skills to the test in a fast-paced challenge!
And of course, no Starbucks Day would be complete without Starbucks-themed drinks and a salty popcorn snack to enjoy along the way!

Today, Life Science students in Mrs. Tate's class had to act as detectives. They had to evaluate a slide under the microscope and decide if the sample used to be alive or not! Did it have cells? Some samples really stumped them!

On Thursday and Friday, Ms. Ambrose’s English 12 DE classes participated in a college admission simulation!
With guidance from Ms. Rush, students acted as enrollment committees who had to evaluate a list of ten candidates, decide which three to accept, and defend their choices. 🎓
The activity gave them a behind-the-scenes look at the college admissions process from the flip side and sparked thoughtful discussions about what makes an applicant stand out. 🌟
