Last Wednesday, a group of 10th grade students visited Bridging Communities located in New Kent. Students were provided with hands-on experiences, information about programs, and exciting tips on what to expect if they are accepted for the next school year. Thank you Mrs. Rush for providing our students this opportunity to explore trade options within the school community.

Vaping is not the harmless habit it’s made out to be! Flavored e-cigarettes might seem appealing, but the sweet flavors can mask the serious damage they cause to your lungs. Over time, vaping can lead to breathing difficulties and long-term health issues. Choose your health and make the commitment to live vape-free!

Environmental Club members Teagan Soderholm and Prince Mori willingly gave up their first Saturday of Thanksgiving break to accompany Mr. Johnson to Graves Mountain in Syria, Virginia, for training leading up to this year's Envirothon competition. The training drew about 250 students from around Virginia and was led by experts in soil and water conservation, forestry, wildlife, and aquatic ecosystems.

Did you know? Most middle and high school students who vape want to quit! In 2020, 63.9% of students who used e-cigarettes reported wanting to stop, and 67.4% had attempted to quit in the past year. This shows that many young people recognize the dangers of vaping and are ready to take action for their health. Let’s support our students in making positive choices and encourage them to seek help in their journey to quit vaping!

Vaping can have serious long-term effects for teens and young adults! 🏥 While e-cigarettes are often marketed as a safer alternative to traditional cigarettes, the truth is that we still do not fully understand their impact on health. Research shows that the aerosol from e-cigarettes can contain harmful substances that may lead to respiratory issues, cardiovascular problems, and even increased risk of chronic diseases over time. Protect your health and make informed choices. Let’s stay vape-free and prioritize our long-term wellness! 💪
