Every school day matters! Students who miss just 5% of the school year—about nine days—are more likely to fall behind in reading and math.

Strong attendance helps students stay on track, build important skills, and prepare for future success. Let’s work together to make every day count! 🌟

As we start another school year, WPPS reminds our community to help keep our students safe by following rules of the road around school buses.

✅ Two-lane road – Vehicles must stop from both directions.
✅ Road with a center turn lane – Vehicles must stop from all directions.
✅ Road with a median – Vehicles must stop only if you’re on the same side as the bus.

Thank you for doing your part to protect our students as they travel to and from school each day! 🚌

If the lights are flashing, no passing! School is back in session, and we need your help to keep everyone safe. 🚌

Here’s a quick guide to when drivers must STOP for a school bus:

➡️ Two-lane road = Cars must stop from both directions
➡️ Road with center turn lane = Cars must stop from all directions
➡️ Road with median = Stop only if you’re on the same side as the bus

Let’s work together this year to protect our students and help everyone get to school and home safely!

Today, we recognize Women’s Equality Day. This day commemorates the adoption of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which granted women the right to vote.

The holiday has been in effect since 1971, when it was officially established by Congress.

We are pleased to observe this important date in partnership with our community! 💪
