Congratulations to Kate Howard on being selected as a Virginia Senate Page!
This is an incredible opportunity to learn about state government, witness the legislative process up close, and serve our West Point community. Your hard work and dedication have earned you this amazing experience and we are so proud of you and can't wait to see the incredible things you'll accomplish!
Wishing you an inspiring and memorable time as a Senate Page. Keep learning, growing, and making a difference!

Mrs. Tate's 8th-grade class conducted a fun and educational s'mores lab to explore different methods of heat transfer. Students experimented with conduction, convection, and radiation to determine which method melted marshmallows and chocolate most effectively. They analyzed their results, discussed the science behind heat transfer, and, of course, enjoyed their delicious s'mores! This hands-on activity combined learning with holiday cheer, making science both tasty and memorable.

On Tuesday, Ms. Wayland’s kindergarten students enjoyed hearing a holiday story read aloud. What a treat to have a former student read to our class!

Vaping is not the harmless habit it’s made out to be!
Flavored e-cigarettes might seem appealing, but the sweet flavors can mask the serious damage they cause to your lungs. Over time, vaping can lead to breathing difficulties and long-term health issues. Choose your health and make the commitment to live vape-free!

At WPPS, we believe that every day in the classroom is an opportunity for students to grow, learn, and succeed. Regular attendance is key to academic achievement, social development, and building lasting friendships.
Let's work together to ensure our students are present and ready to thrive!

Environmental Club members Teagan Soderholm and Prince Mori willingly gave up their first Saturday of Thanksgiving break to accompany Mr. Johnson to Graves Mountain in Syria, Virginia, for training leading up to this year's Envirothon competition. The training drew about 250 students from around Virginia and was led by experts in soil and water conservation, forestry, wildlife, and aquatic ecosystems.

Think you know the risks of vaping?
It’s not just about nicotine addiction—vaping can weaken your immune system, making it harder for your body to fight off illnesses like colds and respiratory infections. Protect your health and your future by saying no to vaping!

Happy Computer Science Education Week!
Let’s celebrate the educators, students, and programs making a difference through computer science. Together, we’re building a bright future!

Did you know? Most middle and high school students who vape want to quit!
In 2020, 63.9% of students who used e-cigarettes reported wanting to stop, and 67.4% had attempted to quit in the past year.
This shows that many young people recognize the dangers of vaping and are ready to take action for their health. Let’s support our students in making positive choices and encourage them to seek help in their journey to quit vaping!

Mr. Jay's Geometry students constructed paper airplanes to investigate angles of elevation and depression. After collaborating with partners and collecting data, students applied trigonometric ratios to calculate the missing angles.
